Ambassador Dr. Jacqueline Mohair was formally recognized as a 2026 “100 Women of Excellence” honoree during a September 18 ceremony at the Dirksen Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill.

The national recognition brought together accomplished women representing education, business, philanthropy, entrepreneurship, faith, media, public service and community leadership.

Presented by the 100 Women of Excellence Committee in partnership with the Honorable Erica Thomas Adeyemi, the program recognized women for their professional achievements, leadership, service and contributions to their communities.

Georgia State Representative Billy Mitchell was among those in attendance for the Capitol Hill program.

For Mohair, the occasion marked a significant milestone in a career devoted to education, humanitarian service, entrepreneurship and expanding access to resources for others.

“Receiving this recognition on Capitol Hill was an incredibly meaningful moment,” Mohair said. “I am grateful for the honor and mindful of the responsibility that comes with it. Every door that opens creates an opportunity to build another bridge for someone else.”

Known professionally as “The Bridge Builder,”Mohair has developed educational programs, nonprofit initiatives, leadership platforms and business resources serving students, women, entrepreneurs, nonprofit organizations and emerging leaders.

Her leadership philosophy, Build the Table™ encourages individuals to create opportunities rather than wait for access to spaces that already exist.

“Leadership is not simply about having a seat at a table,” Mohair said. “Sometimes our responsibility is to build the table, create the opportunity and make room for other people to rise with us.”

Following the Capitol Hill ceremony, honorees and guests continued the 100 Women of Excellence celebration during Congressional Black Caucus Weekend in Washington, DC.

As Mohair enters the next chapter of her work, she says her focus is on building institutions, technology and opportunities capable of creating lasting impact.

“Success becomes more meaningful when what we build continues helping people beyond us,” Mohair said. “That is the legacy I want to leave: stronger institutions, greater access, more opportunities and people who understand that they have the ability to build something that matters.”
